Sugar Creek PavilionFeatures:

An 18 hole Disc Golf course was created by Tim Hildebrand (the course designer) in 2012, in the undeveloped woods of Sugar Creek County Park with the help of volunteers and donations from many Door County businesses along with funding from an anonymous grant.  The course length is 4,718 feet and is a challenging, fully wooded course with tight fairways.  The course is about 1.4 miles of walking trails.

The park does feature a boat launch, although due to low water levels and a sandbar located near the launch, the dock has not been put in for many years.  Boaters can access the waters of Sugar Creek in the summer and fall by launching at Chaudoir’s Dock County Park or Robert M. Carmody County Park. The launch does offers a unique location for paddlers to put in a kayak or canoe.

Sugar Creek is also a busy access point to the ice for perch and whitefish fishing in winter.

The park also features a waterfront picnic area with a pavilion, benches, and tables; a perfect spot to watch the sunset over the bay.

History:

The land of Sugar Creek was obtained in 1945.  The park is named for the creek that runs through it and was a popular tributary for smelt-dippers.
